Well its been a while updating my blog, so here goes...

Lasat Saturday we played 3 games of roller at simply skate and we had to win all three to keep on trck to win the U12s league...which we did beating our main rival Khaos 6-2 - apparently we were lucky!  I also went to Puckstop and got my new skates, had some graff ice converted to roller - they d dogs....  On Sunday I played footy and scored 2 goals, enough said and last night, Tuesday I played cricket and scored 21 runs.  Tonight off to ice training at Bradford and then its roller on Thurday and GB on Sunday, phew....

I played roller on Saturday morning and played our green team, we won and I scored 4 and got 2 assists, then we played the Tigers who beat us pretty bad last time but we beat them as well 5-3 and i scored the first goal.  I then went to see my grandad on the way to play ice hockey at Solihull, we won quite easy and I scored 3 and got an assist.

Next saturday I have U14s roller games and GB training on Sunday, can't wait

U14s Ice & Roller!

E-mail Print PDF

Went up to Hull yesterday to play U14s ice and what a rubbish day that turned out to be.  We need to pass the puck and stop being selfish cus when we pass we can have a go at anyone and win.  Hull just out passed us, the only goals we scored was an unassisted wrap around and then I made the second goal by crashing the net beating Alister and PASSING to Liam who converted it....

Went out early AGAIN! for our roller game, we won 7-2 and I scored 4 plus 3 assists - I must say that I played brill (well my dad said I did and some of the other mums and dads so it must be true)

Of to footy now.... watch this space!

Write up from Sheffield home game

Hello everyone and welcome to tonight’s U16’s fixture between the Bradford Bulldogs and the Sheffield Swamp frogs

A couple of weeks ago we made the trip to Grimsby. With a small ice pad and Grimsby being a very physical team it’s never an easy fixture at the best of times. We were missing four guys from our bench for various reasons and with Charlie away on holiday and Aaron at Solihull with our senior team we were left without a coach too. So in stepped Robert shears ( “spud” to those who know him) who plays his hockey with our rec team. he’d never seen us play before so he didn’t know how we played as a team or what skills we had as individuals, but he has played many a game at Grimsby so had plenty of advice for our guys based on his own experience,

His advice obviously paid off as we came away with 6-1 win. Goals coming from Bobby Streetly (3), Josh Turner (1) a centre ice rocket shot from Liam Kirton (1) and possibly the best goal I’ve seen all season from Jack Dransfield (1), breaking out of our zone and speeding unchallenged down the ice jack played a dummy shot to the right then slid the puck home to the left leaving the Grimsby net minder fuming.

Man of the match went to Jack Dransfield not just for his outstanding goal, but for his efforts throughout the game, for a little guy he play’s a big game. All our guys gave 100%

From start to finish and I hope we can do the same today, both ourselves and Sheffield are chasing the play off position so this should be an action packed game.

Any way! Back to tonight game the best of luck to both teams, let’s see lots of goals on the ice and hear lots of noise off it.

I would like to thank all the friends and family involved in the club for all their help in making games run smoothly, we couldn’t do it without you and it is much appreciated.

On behalf of myself, Andy, Charlie, Aaron & all the guys on our bench may I say a big thank you to Spud, cheers mate!

Finally to all the guys on the Bradford bench, keep up the good work and enjoy the game and on behalf of the club may I wish everyone a safe journey home.

U16s v Sheffield

E-mail Print PDF

I played for the U16s on Saturday and we won 9-1 with me getting an assist!  The coach said that I nearly got man of the match for all my hard work.  Sunday I went down to Queens road for GB training, it went well and I really enjoyed it.  Our U14s team went to Whitley Bay and lost 7-5

Bradford v Newcastle @ Home

Well I have just played against my Raptors team mates who play for Newcastle, Danny and Luke.  We won 7-3 and I scored a breakaway goal, bit like last week at Grimsby, only this time I deked Danny at the blue line then went on with Luke snapping at my heels to score my best ever goal for Bradford.  I also got man of the match.

Sunday game v Grimsby

I played for the u16s on Sunday and we won 6-1 and I scored my first goal for Bradford.  I got a breakaway on the redline and shot off towards the golalies righthand side, I pulled him out of posistion and then deked him to score on my backhand.  I go man of the match.  We then went to macky d's for something to eat

Tonight we played Coventry at home, face off at 18.00.  This was a very fast physical game to play in and the checks where coming in fast and furious.  Can't remember who scored all the goals but we won 9-6!   I also played football earlier today and we won 8-0 and I scored 2, had 3 dis-aloud, boo hoo.  Got another footy game in the morning and then off to Grimsby to play for the U16s

Just got back from roller training, really enjoyed it doing passing in a circle with 2 pucks, really hard work concentrating on the puck and to give good acurate passes.  Got two football games this weekend, Say & Sunday morning, then off to Bradford 14s game v Coventry Saturday night, 6pm face off then 16s ice game on Sunday in Grimsby,  never been before - everyone says its a small rink and the zamboni is a tractor!

£100!

I went to scouts on Monday and did a presentation to everyone and at the end Paul (our leader) gave me a cheque for a £100 towards my GB trip - that was fantastic.  Off to Bradford ice tonight for training, hope my dad will let me stop on with the U16s for extra training as we have 2 games this weekend, Coventry at home 18.00 FO and then Grimbsy on Sunday away, hope I'm picked to play
